Q. What is mobile tanning and how does it work? Is it safe?
A. SunBlast Mobile Tanning professionals come to your house,
work or even on location for special events. We use the state of the
art airbrush tanning systems to apply your customized spray tan (we
have three different levels of color). SunBlast Mobile Tanning will give
you the most natural looking UV free tan available. Our products are
top of the line, the best quality tanning solutions on the market
containing DHA that are safe and approved by the FDA. This service is
HUGE in Australia and New Zealand. They have always been ahead of the
USA on skin care and prevention of skin cancer.
Q. Will I turn orange or have streaks?
A.
NO! This is not 1989! SunBlast Mobile Tanning will give you a worry free
tan. We guarantee a streak free tan that you will never have to rub in
or be bothered with. No more orange between your fingers or knees! Make
sure to exfoliate before your service to avoid any gathering on the dry
spots, and make sure you follow your technicians instructions!
Q. Why not just use a regular tanning bed?
A. Have you seen the headlines lately? CLICK HERE IF YOU HAVEN'T!!! This one was just published on July 29, 2009. Unlike Tanning beds, spray tans are not in any way, harmful for your skin. Plus our spray tan is
instant! You will not need to lay in a bed for 10-12 min day after day
to get results. When applied correctly, your spray tan will not leave you red or peeling. Stretch marks, cellulite and even bruises look so much better after a spray
tan!
Q. Why should I choose your service over Spray Tan Booths offered in tanning salons?
A. We won't ever "bad mouth" a Spray Tan Booth, one of the Owners of SunBlast has been getting Mystic Tans since 2002, but here's the thing...they are not for everyone. Will our statistics, we would conclude that 1 out of 5 women spray tans successfully in a Booth.
Booths can take some time to master, and if you're willing to perfect your routine in a booth (risking the first few times looking a little odd :) then a Booth is very convenient. In a booth, some areas of your body get sprayed too light or too heavy leaving you
with an uneven tan. Booths can leave leave you blotchy and fade uneven. You never know when they change out - or if they change out - their solutions for fresher newer ones.
Have you mastered the Booth? Great! But why take a chance when you know that every part of your body will be detailed by hand, leaving no streaks.
Q. How long does it take to get sprayed?
A. It takes approximately 15-20 minutes per person; 25-30 minutes for a "Double Dip". We don't believe in the "Get Tan in 10 minutes" motto. You should get what you pay for, and with SunBlast Mobile Tanning, you're paying to get the best tan possible. So for Tanning Parties, plan to accommodate all of your guests.
Q. Do I have to be naked?
A. You do not have to be naked. It is your choice how you want to look. If
you want no tan lines than you will be naked. If you choose to wear your own underwear or a
swim suit, please pick a dark colored suit or an old one.
Q. How do I prepare for my tan?
A.
EXFOLIATE ALL OVER! Make sure to
shave and wax at least 24 hours before your spray tan. Your skin MUST
be clean from all lotions, perfumes and deodorant. Lotion and deodorant
act as barriers and can even turn your tan green.
Q. Aftercare?
A. We
will give you a after care check list to take home. Please wear loose
clothes to wear after the spray. The solution will rub off on your
clothes, but it does not stain. You will need to STAY away from water
for the next 8 hours. This allows the solution to set and develop evenly
all over. In the morning make sure to take a shower (do not go to the
gym until you shower). You will see the solution wash off in the shower
(this is normal). Then apply the tan extender lotion.
Q. How long will it last?
A.
Our product will last between 5-14 days depending on the individual.
The tan slowly fades just like a tan that you get from the sun or
tanning bed. Make sure to extend your tan with our tan extender lotion.
Q. Will you drive to any location?
A.
Yes we try to travel to all of our clients! Of course our charges will
increase depending on the location. Rates are applied to a 15 mile radius in the Sacramento and Placer Counties of California, DeSoto and Shelby Counties in Mississippi and Tennessee, Lafayette and Breaux Bridge Areas of Louisiana, and Las Vegas Nevada.
Q. Is it okay to get a tan if pregnant or nursing?
A.
Typically, it is safe to use tanning lotion while you are pregnant.
The active ingredient Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a three-carbon sugar
that is non-toxic and therefore is not harmful to you or your baby.
DHA works by interacting with your dead skin cells to produce brown
pigment called melanoidin. DHA does not go beyond this layer of cells
and is not absorbed into the body. Skin is constantly shedding dead
skin cells and renewing itself, and so the tan fades as this happens.
BUT...DHA is not approved for "atomized inhalation". We as technicians should be wearing a mask, but occasional - even frequent exposure, has not been linked to any health problems. Please check with your doctor before your visit, and if your doctor approves, make sure your technician is NOT using an alcohol based solution, but an ALOE based solution. Who wants to inhale alcohol while pregnant?
